Description

Diese Portraitfotografie im Visitenkartenformat aus dem Ingolstädter Fotografenatelier Sölch zeigt den französischen Kriegsgefangenen Charles Gombault. Er war als Sergeant der Zuaven in bayerische Gefangenschaft geraten und nach Ingolstadt verbracht worden. Nach einem wiederholten Ausbruchsversuch, bei dem Gombault einen Unteroffizier tätlich angegriffen hatte, wurde er zum Tode verurteilt und am 9. Januar 1871 in Ingolstadt standrechtlich erschossen.
