Description

Krokoit (Rotbleierz) ist natürliches Bleichromat Pb[CrO4]). Typische Vorkommen bestehen aus gelblichroten, säuligen Kristallen. Seiner Farbe verdankt er auch seinen Namen (krokos gr. Safran). Dieses Exemplar stammt aus einer Kluft der historischen Goldlagerstätte von Beresowsk. Krokoit ist heute trotz seiner hohen Konzentration an Chrom nicht mehr von wirtschaftlicher Bedeutung.
