Das bis heute markanteste Datum der Tuttlinger Stadtgeschichte ist der 1. November 1803: An diesem Tag wurde die Stadt durch einen Brand in wenigen Stunden vollkommen zerstört. Der kurze Zeit vor dem verheerenden Stadtbrand aufgenommene Plan des Tuttlinger Stadtbaumeisters E. F. Schad zeigt die mittelalterliche Stadtanlage an der Donau und verzeichnet die Besitzer der einzelnen Gebäude und Liegenschaften.
