Description

Vorderseite des Steins als Tür mit vier kassettenartig vertieften Feldern gebildet; in den unteren Feldern Ringgriffe, zwischen den Feldern scheibenförmige Belege; lateinische Inschrift: Posilla Poblicia Sex(ti) f(ilia)

Grabmälern in Gestalt von Türstelen liegt die Vorstellung von der Grab- oder Unterweltstür zugrunde. Die Romanisierung Vulcis - nach 90 v.Chr. römisches Municipium - hatte den Übergang von etruskischen zu lateinischen Inschriften auf den Grabsteinen zur Folge.
