The needle with cast-on eye catches the eye by its multiple profiling below the small nail head. Six grooves divide the area into segments of different sizes. Two cast bronze arches extend from the nail head in a tight semicircle to the beginning of the profiled zone.
Elements from two different needle types are combined here, as the arches are represented on needles with horned animal heads from Surkh Dum-i-Luri, while the shape of the needle itself is reminiscent of the needles with a thickened shaft on one side of type 27D.8. which are also represented there (cf. Schmidt/van Loon/Curvers. 1989. The Holmes Expeditions to Luristan [Chicago], 267 No. 27D.8., 269 No. 27D.16.1).
