Gerard M. Gert (1907-)

In der Library of Congress findet sich ein "Interview with Gerard M. Gert" (https://www.loc.gov/item/mfdipbib000415) aus dem Jahre 1988. Hierin berichtet Gerard M. Gert:
"I was born on February 4, 1920, in the Free City of Danzig. I lived there until 1927, and my parents and I moved to a place called Stettin or Sczcecin, which is in Pomerania. Then we lived in Berlin for two years, and in 1937 I decided I had had enough of Mr. Hitler, and I took off by myself and went to the United States. I attended college in America going to Lebanon Valley College in Pennsylvania. In 1942, I got a BS from NYU in New York, did some graduate work at the New School for Social Research. Later on in 1942, I thought I’d better join the army. I was in the Army until ’46, in February. I was hired the next day by the organization that was then responsible for running Germany, OMGUS, Office of Military Government US ..." Er berichtet über seinen Einsatz bei der De-Nazifizierung Deutschlands und fährt dann fort mit der Schilderung seiner Aktivitäten als Spezialist für Psychologische Kriegsführung in Laos 1932-1965."
